Nicolet FreeDop Obstetric and Vascular Doppler
FreeDop
Freedom of movement
True Doppler freedom is available with the unique FreeDop from Nicolet Vascular. This revolutionary system lets you move freely during exams, with no cord to get in the way. This is achieved through use of unique array of multiple infrared transmitters that provide clear, continuous signal as you move around the exam room. The built-in, high-quality, dual speakers produce Doppler sounds that are crystal clear and free of distortion. The FreeDop also incorporates auto-correlation, a pattern recognition technique that accurately tracks the heart rate.
The FreeDop is the only small Doppler available with the controls on the probe. All you hold in your hand is the small probe with its convenient volume and "on/off" controls, leaving your other hand free. The probe can even be placed in a sterile sheath and used in the sterile field of the operating room while leaving the main unit outside of the sterile field. The digital fetal heart rate and vascular pulse readout is large and easy to read, even from across the room.
Easy Recharging on a Versatile Stand
The FreeDop base is larger than most Dopplers which makes it very durable and reduces the chances of it being lost or stolen. Its charging stand can be mounted on a wall, placed on a counter or attached to an IV pole, whatever location is the most convenient for you. The FreeDop's base automatically recharges when it is placed in its stand, and the probe recharges when in the base ensuring that the unit is always ready to use.
Obstetrical Applications
The FreeDop detects fetal heartbeats. The 3 MHz probe is used early in pregnancy. The 2 MHz probe is used for larger patients, later in pregnancy and can also be placed in a waterproof sheath for use in underwater labor and deliveries.
Vascular Applications
The FreeDop with either the 5 MHz or 8 MHz probe can be used to detect and localize vessels, determine patency and aid in catheter insertion. It is also and excellent tool for obtaining accurate low systolic blood pressures and performing ankle/brachial index (ABI) studies.
